Thanks for the kind words, y'all. I have been bawling like a baby all night. Fagin, on the other hand, seems to be napping peacefully. I'm going to go tuck him into my bed (a treat for him as he never gets to sleep in there due to his tendency to sleep on my face!)
Here's to hoping that your cat is OK. People who don't stop for an animal don't deserve the air they breathe.
After having a cat be killed by a car and another attacked by a dog in my own back yard, my cats are 90% indoors cats. They go outside for brief periods from time to time but are mostly indoors cats. They live healthier lives (no accidents, no diseases, fewer injuries) that way.

As of this morning Fagin is moving a little slow, but he seems to be okay. His back is scratched up and there is a bruise over his left eye. But he is eating and drinking just fine. His pupils are back to normal (that was the scary part!).
Jennspeeps- He and his brother Dodger will likely become mostly indoor cats. I don't know that I can keep them in 24/7. That barn cat attitude is too ingrained. But I think they will only go out under supervision now.
