My chick adventure!!!

My chicks always had a very quick sleep, run around, eat cycle that lasted about 10 minutes for all 3. Are they eating and drinking just fine? I'm not an expert at this, so I'd suggest posting the behaviors in the "Raising Baby Chicks" forum. :)

They eat and drink and then when the heat lamp is on they go under it and sleep in a pile. I was worried about nothing! When it's cold they keep warm by running all over the place.

I picked my favorites too! There's peeper who likes to chirp and snuggle in my hand. There's also puff who is so fluffy u can barely see her eyes!

Puff is a chipmunk coloring and peeper is cream colored with a gray strip on her back.

The instant sleeping is normal at that age. They can pass out in the middle of running, and then they look like they're dead for a few minutes until they start fidgeting about again. Put some pebbles in their water bowl so that they don't drown when falling asleep by it, and do you have some other heat source for them other then keeping warm by jogging?

They have a special water thingy so they can't drown. And they have a headlamp that they like to sleep under. Occasionally the heat lamp gets really hot so I turn it off and that's when they jog around.

They are all doing well and are almost fully feathered! They have changed colors alot! One of then was black as ended up being gold and black and another that was black ended up being fully gold. The chipmunk chicks ended up being two different patterns! One had grey and white stripes down the bac and a pure white breast and the other became a really pretty brown with this really cool pattern. I'll try get pics later.

I'm sorry for my late reply. Ah, they grow so fast! It's so neat how their feather patterns change. One chick I had that was pure black ended up being black, green, gold, orange, and red. I'd love to see the pictures!

I've been busy too I'm crazy about these cool fish I got and I'm trying to raise them for breeding. Also I've been busy with my acting and crafts. I learned needle felting and now I can't stop!
