My chick died out the nowhere.

I was checking on my chickens when I found a baby chick dead, It had random bruises and it looked like bite marks where the poor things skin was ripped, I’m not sure what it is, someone help ASAP!

Was the chick with a broody hen? The others may have pecked and hurt it, if it got away from the broody. Could you give more details? Sorry for your loss.

We are not too sure, my chickens are also getting flu? Not sure what it’s exactly called but there is something that is making my chickens sick. I’ve lost 2 more since this post.

We believe it is a rat problem, it was with her mom, all bitten up, very concerning.

I'm sorry this happened, was it your only chick? Sounds like you need to make your coop and run rodent-proof. Reinforce all fencing with 1/2" hardware cloth, do you know what that is?
