If I lived there I would pick them up for you.....

i would tell the boss you won't be able to work that day because you have to wait for your chicks to be delivered since they can't come there, you will be at home.. let him decided now hehehhe. he might change his mind

I'm thinking I may take a gamble and take off that wednesday and just send them up to that p.o. yet and hope they come in that day. I need to take one of my dog kids to the vet up in that direction to get his heart med check and hopefully get his dental cleaning done. And get one of the other ones preexamined for his dental too. Their appt is thursday that week so hopefully we can change it to wed. So drop off dogs, go to p.o. to get chicks, go 35 miles back home to take care of chicks, do stuff at home and then run 40 miles back to vet. Now that sounds like a "fun" personal day.

If they come in the day before I'll just take them to one of the girls houses.

Is it your best guess that express mail from meyers to northern WI will be 2 days?

Since your Amish neighbor picked up the first shipment, why not ask them to give you a hand w/ the second. Perhaps offer to order five chicks for them in exchange for the favor.

Well when the neighbor watched the broiler chicks we had 30 of 100 die w/in 3 days so not sure if that was hatchery fault or very naughty little boys fault. Plus they have a small house with 8 or 9 little kids and no electricity so who knows what would happen.

When your baby chicks are grown up and start to lay eggs. Give them to the people in the office appart from the one who has spoilt your plans. That will teach her

Ive a woman like that at my work, I just ignor her. She wont be getting any of my eggs hahahaha

How about a neighbor who would appreciate being on your "Free egg List"?
OR, maybe your local feed store would accept the delivery? They should be happy to help out beings you will be buying your feed from them? I wouldn't hesitate to ask, the worst they could say is "NO, because you aren't buying them from us" at which I would say "fine, I will not be buying anything from you".

well make sure you never have a bday cake for her at the office. It might be a distraction and too noisy

On the contrary,,, I think a nicely decorated pair of chocolate Ex-Lax cupcakes might be a LOVELY idea for her birthday... it might educate her about what may and what may not be a "noisy distraction"
