My little chick has a big abscess in her nose for the passed week. I've been using warm water and this med I bought at the feed store about 3-4 times a day. She is eating, drinking and very active. No sign of any sickness. But a little discontent when I'm cleaning. Does anyone knows how I can help her?
Thank you

How did this start? How long has it looked bloody? Has there been any bloody mucus from the beak or coughing? Is there food and mucus in the nostril? I would try to use warm soaks on the mass, and try to clean it off if possible. Try using a little hydrogen peroxide via QTips on the nostril for a few minutes, and picking out the softened material with something like an orange stick or manicure tool. If it seems like tissue and bleeds more, you may need to see a vet.

Poor baby. So sorry. I have no idea. If it were my bird, I would definitely try cleaning it very well and make sure she's eating, drinking, pooping normally. I would be concerned about an infection taking over. Any more experience people know if it would be safe for her to apply a (non-pain-killing) antibiotic ointment?
