Pic?This morning there was a chick that hatched and there was something that looked like the yolk sac??? and now it's gotten very long and is leaving a trail of blood all over the incubator. There's another chick that has something similar and I don't know what to do
@LhickenChicken my first instinct, it could be mushy chick disease on the light colored one, the darker one it could be the second membrane that's still attached. For the first one i'm not sure that there's anything you can do, for the second one, see if you can put it in a little plastic cup in the Bator until the membrane dries, should look brown and then cut it closest to the membrane. Post pictures before cutting though!
All right. But is there anything I can do for the yellow one?? I don't want to cull her or have her die!!!
Can you take better pictures? Close ups of the umbilical site for each chick? It could just be a bit of the egg membrane or something but it's hard to tell from the pictures.
