I bought 6 Golden Comets on April 6th,(they were 2 days old at that time) 3 females and 3 males. They were all the same size when I bought them but as you can see in the picture my "little one" is much smaller than the rest. The female (on the left) and the other females are that same size and my roo and the other roo are the same size. He is pretty much the same size he was when I bought them. He is getting his feathers, is not bullied away from the food and otherwise acts just fine. He has had a bit of the runs but I'm assuming because he has been pecking at the grass during their outside time may be causing that problem or maybe a "bad worm" he ate. Is there a bantam breed of Golden Comets and maybe he got mixed in the batch....or is he just a runt....any advice would help.

thanks!
Angela

I have two Rhode island red/cross chicks that hatched on April 1st and have the same situation here. My two chicks look just like yours. I will be curious to see what people say about it, as I was wondering the same thing.

As long as he is eating well he may just be a slow grower. I'd make sure he gets a little boiled egg each day to supplement his protein and some yogurt to correct that stomach thing. Hope an expert will advise you on the bantam thing. Good luck!
