I hatched a chick about a week ago and he was born with spraddle leg so I have to help him eat and drink when I help him drink i just hold him above the water so we can get a drink if he wants it but after he takes a few sips bubbles come out of his mouth and he can't breath or chirp so I do baby chick CPR and he coughs up water then hes fine.

how do I stop him from choking on his water? PLEASE REPLY EVEN IF IT MIGHT NOT BE THAT HELPFUL

Welcome To BYC

Have you tried to correct the spraddle/splayed leg? If not, try to get it corrected - this is a link to a great tutorial showing how to make a "hobble" so it can learn to stand and walk on it's own. http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/02/spraddle-leg-in-baby-chicks-what-is-it.html
Leg issues in a young chick can usually be corrected, but if you wait until he gets older to try to correct them, it may not work too well.

Holding the chick above food and water to eat/drink may be pressing on his belly and crop which is pushing fluids back up causing him to choke. It would be better to try to make a "chick chair" to sit him in so he can try to eat and drink on his own. Offer wet chick starter and some poultry vitamins containing B2 (Riboflavin) or you can crush a human B-Complex vitamin and stir it into his feed.

Here's another link that addresses some leg issues and also has a photo of a chick chair - if you google "chick chair" you will find a few images to give you some ideas on how to make one.

I have looked up on how to fix spraddle leg but I would only be able to fix the right leg the left leg is stuck backwards and it can't move.

The chick didn't make it, I didn't get any photos of his but the left leg was bent at the knee and the lower half below the leg was pressed against the top half above the knee and the other leg looked like the knee was pooped out of place and he was also unable to move that leg so he used his wings to get around his cage that I was keeping him in. I found a way to help him eat and drink without choking, he was just eating and drinking too fast so I had to slow him down he died yesterday afternoon 3-30-17 to 4-9-17
