My chick wont stop carrying on.

My 1 day old barnevelder chick is cheeping a lot, it also is laying down and keeps opening and closing its beak, we gave it some sugar water, Help

There is usually something wrong when they cheep. Was this a shipped chick or from someone you bought chicks from? Is it cold or too hot? What is the temperature in the brooder? Has it been drinking water or eating? Have you checked for a pasty butt? Can you give her some Poultry NutriDrench or SaveAChick?
