MY CHICK WONT STOP CHIRPING LOUD

I just hatched a baby Silke 2 days ago and moved him to the brooder. He won't stop chirping loud. I have a heat lamp which is about 90 degrees, I have a heating pad, food water and a few stuffed animals. He won't stop chirping someone help are their any tricks to this?

It could just be lonely. Try adding a stuffed animal. Are any other chicks supposed to hatch?

There are but I don't think they are going to hatch. Its day 22. I added two stuffed animals

I haven't hatched any so im not sure how to help there. You could try to find some chick's to add as well.

Make sure he knows how to eat and drink. Some have to be shown, and if he isn't very smart, but is the only one, he doesn't have anyone to demonstrate it. Take your finger and gently poke at the food and water, making sharp clucking noises as you do. This is what I've done for hand reared chicks after seeing a mother hen do it for her chicks. I sometimes have to jab at the food so it makes a good bit of sound.

Yes, dip her beak into the water and use your finger to peck at the food. You may need to find her a buddy. Any local feed stores with chicks or a farm nearby with fresh hatched babies?

It won't stop chirping because it's alone. It needs a buddy. Check CL and local feed stores and see if you can find something under a week old to keep it company.

The few single hatchlings I’ve had have all been lonely and needed a little extra contact. I would carry them around in my scarf if I was doing things around the house, or sit with them and read or whatever for a bit. Ideally, you would get a friend (or a few!) for the little one but you can make do with stuffies and some extra snuggles.

for feeding “dumb” chicks or singletons, I prefer wetting the food and putting a small amount on my finger, then presenting it to the chick. I find they have an easier time pecking at my finger horizontally than trying to stay upright and peck towards the ground. you get the secondary benefit of a little extra water if they haven’t quite got the hang of drinking yet too.
