One day I was visiting my chickens and then I saw one of my hens tail feathers drooping down. A few days later, I saw my chicken not moving and was tilting her head sideways. She can’t even eat on her own. I tried tilting her head back and she hesitated. Can you tell me why my chicken’s head is sideways?

Sorry you face this.

Commonly called wry neck.. Most often seen from vitamin deficiency.. sometimes caused by blocked or sour crop.. sometimes by something like Marek's virus.

First questions.. what is her age and feed routine including treats and supplements?

Can you feel her crop is it's squishy like a water balloon or doe it have something hard feeling in there.. see if this article helps..

Are you in the US? Do you have access to poultry nutri drench?

I would at least consider dripping water (or a homemade sugar water electrolyte solution just below her nostrils while hold the beak up enough to let her swallow as it rolls around into the mouth and she will swallow.. if the crop is NOT squishy.. while deciding what more can be done.

How old is she? She could have wry neck or possibly botulism. Can you give her some vitamin E 400 IU orally, and some egg if she is able to swallow that and some fluids?
Head injury, vitamin E deficiency, and certain diseases can cause wry neck. Is she able to stand up if you lift her, or is her neck limp?
