Can you get a photo of the wound?I am so upset because today, Helen has bloody sore on the back of her neck. I think I know that it was from Kevin trying to mate, but what should I do? Please help.
I put a barrier between them. I washed it a bit with soapy water and put on the antibiotic. Can you get a photo of the wound?
How old is Kevin and Helen?
I would flush the wound with warm soapy water or saline (if it's close to her eyes). Trim away any feathers that may get into the wound, then apply triple antibiotic ointment.
Do you have a way to separate Kevin from the ladies?
Is she eating/drinking o.k.?I put a barrier between them. I washed it a bit with soapy water and put on the antibiotic.

Yes. She is her normal self.Is she eating/drinking o.k.?
I haven't seen mating damage look like that, yet. Certainly isn't what I would describe as common mating damage. Looks more like a fight or attack injury... are you sure it was caused by Kevin?
He has jumped on her back and she screamed. There could possibly be a mouse in with them, but I doubt it would bite her. I am sure it was Kevin.I haven't seen mating damage look like that, yet. It looks minor, and should heal up fine. Do you have other birds? Can you give a full pic of Helen?
