My Chicken Care (Please Help)

They are retired. They are rhode island red (although 2 look like a red sex link) and they are about 5-6.

Okay Thanks!!! My grandma has 12 boxes and 5 of them (were) used by her 12 chickens. (Only 2-3 chickens lay anymore)

It's so great that you have your grandma as a resource! So many of us have to learn everything completely from scratch.

Yeah she is really helpful, and she also lives right behind me! She helps me with everything like building, rabbits, chickens, horses, even my hamsters lol.
In fact, she is the reason I have rabbits and chickens. She breeds rabbit, and now I do for 4h and other reasons. We also hatch chicks to sometimes, and raise them and its all because of her.

Not sure how long you anticipate it lasting but its been my experience as well that pvc stuff, when out in the sun all day in direct rays, after a few years, becomes brittle and can crack.
