This morning I let the chickens out and went to feed the younger turkeys and ducks (6-8 weeks). Laying against the coop wall was 1 Egyptian faymous. Thats odd she usually sleeps up on top of the nests. I little poke and she wasn't moving. Oh no!
She seemed healthy and foraging around the yard yesterday. I thought she might have fallen while asleep and hit her head but couldnt have based on where and how I found her on the coop floor. Maybe she had an injured leg and couldn't push the younger turkeys and ducks off?
The question now is what to do with her? Safe to skin and freeze? Too late for that? Usually when I had a bird die I would cremate it in the fireplace but she is fairly big.
