My chicken has 8 eggs now she only has 6

No snakes, I live in Hawaii. This morning when she left her nest for a few minutes.

Have you dug around in the nest? My hen likes to cover them up.

No I didn't know if she would reject her eggs if she smelled a human.

I don't have any problems putting eggs under or taking out eggs from my hen as long as she is broody she will come back to the nest.

So this is a wild chicken...If it were me I would take the chicks as soon as they hatched if you can catch them an brood them myself to tame them.
