It looks black, because it has a scab, but it keeps getting bigger. I have seen her pecking at it and the other chicken too. I put some antibiotic on it. Not sure what kind of chicken she is, but she is all white and not very big, thinner compared to the reds I have. Her white feathers that are near that area are getting black from touching that spot. What else can I put on it? I have had chickens for about 9 years and have had no problems.

Can you post a picture? It sounds like she has been feather-picked by the others. Is her lower abdomen swollen? Nustock cream from the feed store may help heal it, and keep others from pecking. You also need to make sure they are getting at least 16% protein, plenty of room, and things to inerest them if they are cooped up. I would also spend some time watching, so you can spot feather-pickers and separate. Your picture may show something else going on.

That you for your response. I went to the feed store and bought a cream called pick-no-more. I rubbed it all over the area. They have plenty of room to stay busy, not sure which one is pecking her. I will keep watch. If it doesn't get better I will post a picture. Thank you.
