Hello everyone I am new to this and chicken keeping in general. Here's what happened... I rescued four chickens there are two Japanese bantam black tails and two cross breed chickens that I have no idea what they are. One of the cross breed chickens has been pecked badly in the upper eye lid which caused it to bleed and ripped it partially off just hanging on by a thread. This was causing the chicken problems so I had to cut the lose hanging eye lid. It has definitely got better and the chicken has stopped scratching at it. I have cleansed it with sterile cleansers and anti-sceptic wipes, there is no swelling at all and the chicken is back to normal. But I'm just wondering will this missing piece of upper eye lid cause the chicken any further problems? It can still blink perfectly and see fine. And also none of the other chickens are bothering it! Please someone respond ASAP. Im only 18 and this is very stressful as i am very caring. Thanks Jamie!
