My chicken has been bitten!

One of my chickens has been bitten by a fox or raccoon. She has a pretty big bite out of her right wing. She picks at it a lot, should I separate her from the rest of my flock? Should I try to medicate her? She's alive and moving around well, still has a hearty apatite. What to do?

You need to clean that wound asap with a warm water/Betadine solution. Then apply Vetericyn Spray. I would isolate her from the rest of the flock as they might start pecking at her...poor thing. Just keep a close eye on her and she should recover nicely especially if you use Vetericyn spray...the absolute best for healing wounds!

The bigger question is how did she get attacked? Do you free-range? Was she in the run and the predator got in somehow?
