Is there anything I can do? The vet gave her tribissen and panacur. And it's been 2 days and no help at all. Her mouth is a mess and I told the vet it was canker and she said because she has a swelling on one side of the mouth, it is not canker.

Yes, most drugs are not approved for poultry and vets are usually not allowed to prescribe them. They can lose their license. Besides that eggs and meat are usually not to be eaten. That said, for some backyard chickens who you are nit going to butcher or care about not eating the eggs for a long time, some do treat their chickens with antibiotics.

Does the beak smell bad, and did the vet confirm canker (a trichomoniasis protozoan infection?) The tribissen looks to be a sulfa antibiotic. Panacur is a wormer. Usually canker requires metronidazole, ronidazol, or using acidified copper sulfate in the water. Canker is contagious to your whole flock, so I would recommend disinfecting all of your feeders and waterers with 10% bleach water, and separating the chicken with canker. Then purchase the acidified copper sulfate to treat the whole flock’s water for 3 days each month as a preventative. The sick chicken can be treated for 5-7 days with the ACS. You can get metronidazole here if you want to use that on her instead.

The acidified copper sulfate dosage is 1/4 tsp per gallon of water for 3 days as a preventative, or 5-7 days as a treatment. Here is where to buy it:

The sick chicken is in the basement. I live in the city now but I have not seen one pigeon or dove in their lot although we do have a lot of squirrels. The rest of the chickens look fine. I have a goose, can she drink the water too with the ACS in it? Do you know? Thanks so much for the help!
