Hello to anyone who reads this
I'm new to this forum and new to owning chickens, I hope I can learn what I need too with all your help!
I've had 2 hens now for just under 2 months and they have been laying eggs everyday. I got them around 20 weeks old, and there eggs started off very small and have now grown to 'normal' size. They eat well, scratch around in the garden, search for worms, run and of course peck everything!
They seem to be very healthy and happy chickens, however one of my girls around 4 days ago laid an egg and I noticed straight away the egg shell had ripples in it, I kept an eye on her and through the day I realised she spent most of it sitting down, then she tried to hide behind my greenhouse and I found her sat next too another egg but it didn't have a shell, since then I've kept a close eye on her and she still seems happy and is eating, I've given her oyster shell too see if this would help her at all but since then she has stopped laying eggs.
I know I may be getting a bit worried a bit early but i dont want to cause any harm and wondered if anyone else has had the same problem or could advise on anything?
Hope to hear some advise soon
Stevie
