My chicken has this weird thing growing on her back

Hi all! I noticed this today on my bird.

It looks kinda like the fifth finger they grow? But it's on the rear end of her back.

What is this? Is it normal? If not, what should I do?

I believe that's normal and every chicken has it. I can't remember what it is though. I think it's an oil gland or something.

That is her oil gland. Perfectly normal. You will see her rub her beak on the gland and spread the oil on her feathers.

Did you discover this lump on their back, close to their tail? If so, you may have discovered their preening gland (oil gland).
