My chicken in staying in the coop

Hi,
I am new to the forum and new to having a farm. I inherited 22 chickens last spring and have since learned a heck of a lot, but never enough. I have a chicken who is just hanging around inside the coop every day. At first I thought she might be clucky and want to sit, but she is not in the nesting boxes. Any ideas?

I have a few that do the same. You may not see the darling come out and go back in. Most of the ones that do this are more in that out, but that is just the way they like it. I have noticed silkies are the worst.

I have a few who do this as well! Healthy birds, they just like to stay "home"!

I love my girls and she looks healthy. I just worry. I think I have a couple of chicken that are moulting. Is that normal for this time of year?

Hi, chickenmom1! At least she views the chicken coop as home. Mine sleep in the coop, but some like to wander off and hide their eggs elsewhere in the morning!

from Illinois. I have a broodie too. She hangs inside and the other hen will scold her to come out. They are so fun to watch.

and I have been reading on BYC about hens staying in the coop avoiding roos they don't take a shine too. Could this be it?
