My chicken is hatching a duck

We put duck eggs under a broody chicken and lo and behold, a duck is starting to emerge! What do we do now? The roost is high up so it won't be able to get to any food or water. When can/should we remove it and then what? My chicken is sitting on three duck eggs right now. The other two are not showing signs of hatching. Yet.

you need to get them on the floor in a protected area so no one can pick on mama and her ducklings. The duckling won't need anything to eat or drink for at least 24 hrs.
