My chicken is very sleepy and hasn't been moving around??? Help!

Hey everyone, so we noticed last night that our hen (dark brahma) has not been moving around like she usually does. She has been falling asleep in random places, and if we wake her up she doesn't move around much. She won't really eat and she hasn't really drank. She hasn't been clucking, just making that pretty sound like they do when they're going to sleep. She's been pooping but it doesn't really look right- it's like yellowy and there's not much solidity to it. If anyone can help at all it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sounds like Cocci, Corid is good for that. Have you dewormed her? Good luck.

We had one last night like that, I don't want to bring you down, but he died this morning. We read it was from overcrowding, no green foods, and/or no fresh air. It is probably Cocci.

I forgot to tell you that this one was a chick, so I am not sure if it is the same thing. But last year we had 3 hens get exactly what yours have. One died, then another, then another. This is cocci, and needs to be treated right away, otherwise she won't make it till the end of the day. Worm all of your other hens ( and roosters of you have any) even if they are not showing sickness.
Feed her plain yogurt, which helps calm down their intestines. I would force water, by dipping her beak ( be sure not to get her nostrils in the water) and then lift her up, so her beak is pointed almost completely upwards. Or, by using a syringe, drip water slowly down her beak, between each drop, let her gulp it down. Then let her rest, and try again later. Remember: Sleep helps then gather energy.

I don't know much on this subject, I just know it is probably cocci. But i just want to say, Jesus is the only one who decides whether that hen lives or not. Jesus is the only one that saves.

If she does leave, remember, she is with Jesus now. In a much, MUCH better place.

Glad you posted. I have one doing the same thing today. We put her in a box and brought her to the back porch for close observation and TLC. Will be following the advice given in previous answers as soon as I log off!

Okay that was strange, all the stuff I typed back to didn't show except the last one. But basically I just gave her some dewormer with a syringe. We don't have any yogurt, and I can't go and get any because my dad took my car :/ We just put her outside again and she's actually walking around more and pecking and eating a lot of grass.

Thats very good that she is eating!

Very good sign. It is good for her to get fresh air, and to be walking around. Later, if she stops eating and starts acting hungry, and won't eat solids, give her a raw scrambled egg. She will drink it like its water!
