My chicken just ate some silicone! What do I do?

Our 11 week old production red ate silicon. What should I do? The piece was roughly 2 inches long. Will it pass through her system ok? Thanks.

She should be fine, there's not a lot you can do when they eat stuff they aren't supposed to.

I would make sure she is drinking and watch for dehydration.

I would just make sure she is drinking, maybe try to get a little olive oil down her tummy to help things pass. One of my chicks ate a plastic bracelet bead she dug out of the yard. I saw her do it but off course she had it in her beak and swallowed it before I could intervene. It passed thru, looking a little worse for wear, but intact.

Hopefully, your girl will be fine. Her first egg might be a bouncy ball.
