Yes that should be fine, I use similar 7 lb feeders for my flock.im currently looking at this one feeder from TSC does this look good for her?View attachment 4210751
The op stated they switched to all flock and are getting new chicksSeems like 50# for a single chicken might be wasteful. It would take her so long to eat it, much of it might go moldy or stale before she finished it all? Unless you could keep most of it in the freezer, maybe divide it into bags and use a week's worth at a time. That would keep rats and mice out of it, too. Just thinking out loud here ...
Ah yes.The op stated they switched to all flock and are getting new chicks
"Ps. My chicken is alone, I know their flock animals, we’re getting chicks in exactly a month soonest they have chicks"
The op never stated how many chicks they're getting so I don't know how long it'll last .15 a bag for 20% feed is a bargain for Kalmbach. Maybe storing some in batches will make it last longer. I've never needed to do it with 10-15 chickens. I bag lasts a month. Thanks!Seems like 50# for a single chicken might be wasteful. Every 4-6 hours I replace the chick feed with a fresh batch.I fill an ice tray 1/2 full of all flock pellets then add water50lb is a lot for a single chicken but depending on how many chicks they have incoming it then it could be a good fit. 50lb goes in about 1 week for me and almost 2 weeks when I had less chickens.
Someone already mentioned it, but she's being a picky eater. Mine do this with kalmbach layer pellets exclusively since they're spoilt and I didn't realize it has corn or soy. We have a better (but much more expensive feed) which we give them enough of, and then extras are in the kalmbach form since it isn't going to use itself! Either way, they'll eventually finish the kalmbach and then I'll feed them more in the same ratios as before but less feed if they finish by a certain time. I'd take away the feeder and give her exclusively what she needs to eat. Do not give her more until she finishes it. She doesn't have a form of competition for food and it's unlimited so she's picking at things. May I ask what feed you currently use?Not sure if she’s even eating that much i just typically see a lot of food on the ground and when i see her eat i just see her scatter food everywhere :/
Just getting two chicks sadly its the HOA law, also the food that i get is only 5 lbs might start to get 10, just dont have enough space for 50 lbsThe op never stated how many chicks they're getting so I don't know how long it'll last .15 a bag for 20% feed is a bargain for Kalmbach.
