Ummm, ok. Lately as we've been cracking into our eggs, some have been hard-boiled. (!!!) They don't look like regular hard-boiled eggs. The have some brown-tinged whites. (Sorry for the bad photo!!)

I've already ruled out mixing up hard-boiled and fresh b/c we haven't hard-boiled our eggs in a month or two. And I know it wasn't a prank.

On a hard-boiled egg thread, I read that acid could possibly "cook" an egg. (Kind of like using lemon juice to cook salmon.) The birds have been sleeping in the nesting boxes lately, so there is a lot of poop in there. Maybe that has something to do with it. (?)

This just happened with one of my chickens too! I’ve kept chickens for over 10 years and never seen this before. I just cracked an egg that looked full of yolk and “cooked”. I wonder how this happens?

Uhm, Hi... This has been happening with our chickens lately. At first I thought my roommate was playing a prank on me, but he just came to me asking if I was pranking him. Now, we live in Louisiana, and this year has been on the high nineties... Which is hot, but not hot enough for me to keep pulling cooked eggs. The yolks are never fully cooked but the whites are. I'm very confused and this thread was zero help.

All the people saying "not possible", lol well clearly it is, because numerous people have had this experience.

Not sure if it would be possible, but is there a chance that the chickens were out on a super hot day and maybe the mix of their body temp in the heat with the actual heat of the day and location of lay contributed?

I'd love to know more about people's experiences with this!

It is impossible. nobody bothered to post pictures.
It's very likely lash material, it looks like cooked eggs. It means the birds had reproductive infection from a virus or bacteria, most birds die from it since by the time you see lash, it's too late.
