my chicken(s) ate three nails

We were building some fences and a small bag of screws were left on the ground.
Three were missing and I saw one of the pullets ate one. I don't know if she ate all three or who else also had one.
So worried...

I have found every kind of hardware in the gizzards of chickens. The one constant is that every thing I found in my fowl was shiney. Chickens can't pass foreign objects unless they have first been ground to smithereens. The greatest danger is that the material the screws are made out of or coated with is toxic.

So how about a pin. Of course its not made from the same material as the screw. So maybe not harmful if grounded down?

Will they ground things over time?
