My chicken sang the egg song!

My girls are 20 weeks and still no eggs. Is this normal? When should I be looking for eggs?

The "Egg song" Is also a way of telling you there is something dangerous around. And the squatting is a form of telling you your the boss.

Be thankful this was when i only had 3 now I have 8 they all go at the same time, they just find it way to exciting! haha

hxgumdrop, they're almost in harmony! lol What kind of hens are those, btw? Very pretty girls. I am waiting for our first egg song, maybe another few weeks. The anticipation is exhausting....

The two singing are white sussex and the one they are serenading is a speckled sussex. I chose them as they would look like posh lil hens when fully grown and maybe im a little bias but I think they deffo are posh lil girls lol!
These started laying around 6months, Ive read that the bigger a breed the longer it takes for them to start but once these girls started theres been no stopping them really Cluckles laid for 52 days straight!

My girl squats for my toddler and if the other chickens go to shoo her off. She won't squat for me, though!

If you pt your hand / kindly slap her back her wings will spread a little and she will squat. Mine laid THE FIRST EGG OF MY FLOCK 2 DAYS AGO! 1 EACH DAY!

My 7 are about 20 weeks old and I have no idea if they are ready to lay or not. I try listening to them but they just sound like their regular old clucking. When they let me pet them, they will squat but they don't really do it on their own. I'm really not even sure what I should be listening for. Does anyone have video of "chicken squatting" or the "egg song"? This might help me figure out what the heck I should be listening for. Thanks!
