thanks all for your help x

Coryza would be consistant with some of the respritory symptoms and has a strong smell. SOur crop also has a bad smell, could be that the chicken in it weakened state has developed a secondary crop infection?

Hi Guys,

I had a problem in the coop this evening , bit of a fight going on between two chucks who just do not get along for long without a commotion every now and then, my usual trend is to pick each chuck up then put them back on the roosting spots and it diffuses the situation, problem is I have picked up a chuck who was not involved in the fracus, infact she rarely is, but found she was trying to hide from me and when I picked her up and took her outside the coop, I noticed a strong smell from her, she actually smelt like a smelly dog crossed with smelly socks.

The chuck in question did have a bronchial broblem last year which cleared and she has been her full of beans self, she looks great, nice and shiny feathers, nothing out of place , comb, beak, wattles, legs etc are all looking fine, she is eating well, holding her ground well, laying well, is full of beans, only thing is she smells as mentioned above.
None of the others smelt at all.

Any ideas on why she smells this way would be appreciated as I would hate to think she has some underlying problem going on, but having said that, if I need to be thinking otherwise, then any useful information regarding this will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Mark

if you can bring her inside for a night maybe give her a nice warm soak[bath] with some dawn detergent or baby shampoo, to see if the smell dissapears, if the smell comes back then there might be a problem. Let us know please. and I would like to
