I have a chick that was perfectly fine today, it was active and running around outside and then it suddenly became crippled, its legs suddenly started pointing outwards. anyone know what is wrong with my baby chicken?

How old is the chicken? If it is a tiny chick, it might be splayed legs. If it is older, it could be a vitamin deficiency, or slipped tendon. Could it be an injury? Do you have a picture? What are you feeding? Can you start some vitamin B complex tablet 1/4 tablet daily crushed and given with a spoonful of water or a little food? I will check back in the morning.

Do you have photos of your chick?

I agree, giving vitamin support can be helpful for leg issues. I'd follow the advice below.

um, so for some reason the baby chicken is now back to normal it just suddenly started walking like if nothing had ever happened

its a baby chick and we have it in a big card board box and during the daytime we take them outside to roam around in the yard

Could the floor of the box be too slick and the chick splayed its legs out from losing footing?
Line your box with something that's not slick like shelf paper liner or puppy pads. They need firm footing.

Carrying them back and forth can sometimes be stressful as well, so take care that chicks are not sliding around during transfer.
