They will learn....eventually.

When I change the bedding in my coop and scrape it out down to the concrete, my chickens freak out. They won't walk on the bare floor...it's so scary and evil!!!!

...and then when I put the new shavings in they are normally hesitant at first...

I had the same issue with my girls - when I first put sand down on the floor of the run, they ran up to the edge, slammed on the brakes *hard* when they caught site of the new floor, and stood there yelling the chicken version of "what. Is. THAT?!?!?!?"
Fortunately they got over it pretty fast - I only had to chase them into the run a couple of times before they figured out that the sand wasn't going to eat them.

I'm sure your gals will come around eventually.

I dumped several trash cans full of leaves into the run today and now my free rangers don't want to go in there to get to the door to the coop.
I'll have to keep an eye on them when it's time to go to bed.
