My laying hens are exactly 12 mo. old. I have a black hen that is almost naked and I noticed the others doing this. I noticed my EE losing some around her face and neck. Are they starting a molt in Spring? I thought that was in fall. Egg production is not as good as it was but they are still laying.
I know it's not lice or mites. I keep them treated for that and have checked them.
