My chickens are not laying in nesting box’s

Hey I am wondering what I can do to make my chickens lay in the nesting box’s there just laying in my evergreen trees and then I can’t find them

Put fake eggs in the nestboxes and make sure they're dark its got to be a secret that they layed an egg

@Flockincrazy is correct about a fake egg or even golf ball, put it in the nest box at close up. I use plastic Easter Egg filled with gravel & sealed with glue, or they really roll it around. I will add to keep them cooped up for a bit so they realize what the nest box is there for. How many chickens vs nest boxes? It's usually 4 hens to a nest but then you got those that all want to pile into one. What are you using for bedding?

Ive seen some get really picky though. Sometimes they all choose a favorite spot, and the rest fight over it all the time. As long as they have options, they typically sort themselves out
