My chickens are on hunger strike - please help

Greetings all,
we bought a dozen chicks when they were 2 days old with huge bag of starter food. but we noticed they much liked our left overs (Rice, bread, burgers, eggs etc) and we had enough left overs for them. Now that they are 5 months old our left overs are not enough for them. I bought them Layena brand chicken food and they don't even look at it, they don't even attempt to smell it. I bought them mixed grains, when they are very hungry, they'll east certain stuff from it, but not all of it.
forgot to mention this is our first time we are raising chickens.
Any ideas anyone - should I try diff brand of food for them

Stop the leftovers and treats. Feed them strictly their feed and nothing else. Chickens won't starve themselves to death when appopriate food is available to them.
