Long story short, I have 10 hens and two small lead weights are missing, presumably eaten. They are the little round fishing kind, slightly smaller than a pea, that clamp onto the line. I know that they fell into the coop. I have no idea which of the girls ate them. Does anyone have any experience with lead testing, or have any opinions on how to deal with this? In the mean time, I would think it's best to throw out the eggs, get rid of bedding, etc.

Thank you for the link. If any of them ate the weights, it sounds like I will know soon, and can probably assume that it was recent and that we've ingested very little. I called a nurse and I will be taking my 8-year-old daughter in on Monday for blood testing, just to be sure. I'll call our ag agent, also.
