Hello!

I am posting this because NOBODY else would understand the joy I feel right now!!!

I bought eggs and have some in the 'bator, and more will be on their way through our mail system... My rooster just started crowing not that terribly long ago. I have seen him attempting to mate several of my hens, but it didn't LOOK like he was successful. I WAS WRONG!

I just broke open an egg for an egg sandwich, and a bullseye was staring back at me!!! I know he isn't able to mate with my blue orpingtons (who are my main egg layers right now). Next time I get a small egg though, it's going in the BATOR!!!!!!!

little things amuse little minds...... like MINE. Isn't it great to get excited over life's simple pleasures?

Is your 'bator full? I just set my first batch of hopefully fertile eggs from my own flock.... should see something within a week. I've been seeing almost all fertile eggs for months.

.... I like to tell the people eating my eggs that they are fertile.... sometimes they freak... LOL! sick I know

I have 21 eggs in my bator now. I keep running outside to the coop to see if I'll find another one of "those" eggs. I'm wondering if my EE/BO is laying. I saw the rooster "with" her the other day, and the egg that was fertile was a light brown (maybe pinkish?).

Since I already cracked the egg open, I ate it. Why not? We eat chicken meat, and I figure they were fertilized eggs at one point. I don't see that much of a difference! The fertilized egg tasted just like a regular egg!

Thanks everyone for understanding how happy I am!!! My rooster is a turken mix - with what I don't know. But I LOVE the turkens I have. I am joyous to know that any chick babies I get from him with be part Turken!!
