That's called a 'body checked' shell.
Some stressor happened while egg was in the shell gland.

Sometimes malfunctions happen. How old is she?

My hen is 1 and a half years old. She has been laying for a while. I don't think they have always been like this. It is very warm where I live we have has only one rainy day so far. never snows.

Does anyone know why she has been laying eggs all over the place? Sorry to bring this up again but I still haven't figured it out.

Have you ever tried putting fake eggs in the nesting boxes?... is she your only layer?

Have you ever tried putting fake eggs in the nesting boxes?... is she your only layer?

No, I have five other laying hens. We did use fake eggs with our original flock and the rest caught on.
