My chickens freaked me out today

Okay so I'm out raking the leaves this afternoon chickens all around, trashing my piles,lol.
Then I noticed the chickens get real still & quiet.Strange, no flying predators around.Then we heard this sound, I thought it was thunder.It started out low rumbles, then it keep getting louder,lasted for about 5 minutes or more. I've never seen my chickens act this way before.Then it just stopped. The chickens went back to their usual stuff.
I found out just a few mintues ago, there was a gas explosion about 20 miles from here. It's just amazing how in tune chickens are to sounds & vibrations...

Oh man I am sorry to hear someone passed. I cant believe they heard that. Are chickens related to elephants? because elephants can feel vibrations over 20 miles away

They must be,lol. See there's lots of farmland between here & that direction, maybe that's why they heard it.

Both of my dogs were in the house at the time,wonder how they would have acted. I went to watch the news,but they don't have any pics of the area yet.​

The local news said it was an underground pipeline running by a bayou over there & it blew up right by I-20.
Been trying to call DH to avoid the traffic,but his phone is turned off!!!!
