My chickens have adopted a pet.. ***UPDATED, new pics ******

Hardy is gorgeous! I bet he'll get nicer with the hens after a little bit.

We got a young roo that took a couple of months to learn to be nice. Now he's really sweet and careful with the girls, but at first, he tore his favorite hen up pretty bad because he didn't know what to do, and she had no clue why this big chicken was jumping on her back, so she'd try to get away! After his first attempts at courting failed (he'd just jump right on, no dance or anything!) he learned to find treats for the girls, but the instant they ate it, he'd jump on them, which didn't please them, but eventually he learned to find treats, let them eat, do his dance, and when they were ready to go for it.

I bet Hardy will learn soon enough.

I can't wait til your cat goes broody!

LOVE this story and hope whomever let this kitten be born gets told to neuter their strays. you probably already know but the live traps are very easy to use(if you still can't touch him/her) and plan on initially catching a chicken or two also. I catch a couple of my chickens this way every week(the bait is worth it to them!)nice neighbors too-give em a hug!

Thats the cutest story I've read in a long long time. Thank you so much for sharing! The joint custody with the neighbors is great too. I can tell you guys are really great people!
