I laid an-- EGG!!! Yes! That's right!! An EGG!!! Mommy let us all out, and I made a beeline to our old coop (since we were spending the night with the hens in theirs) so Mommy put me right in and I laid an egg!! After that Mommy squealed very happily and after much sitting I'm glad I laid it. After I laid it I went to dustbath with the chicks to tell them the news!!! Snap will write tomorrow, since I couldn't hold this news til tomorrow... Thanks for listening!!! ~Omelette Grace

Hedwig: I was wondering why Ommy went back into the coop.... It was strange.
Omelette: And you said that you would lay before me....
Pippy: Now Mommy is sitting on pins and needles for me and Hazel to lay cause we've got the pretty colored eggs!!
Omelette: Well my egg was a very nice brown with white speckles. :3
Hazel: It still doesn't add up to green and blue and pink eggs...
Buttermilk: Actually, pink eggs are just very light brown eggs...
Omelette: Yea! What she said!!
Snap: Brown egg layers are awesome!!!
Bisquick: Amen sista!!!
Pippy: Hazel and I are unique.

I wish mine--Marianne at least--would figure out where the NESTING BOXES are. Elanor has.

Finally it's Thursday again!! It seemed like it took FOREVER to get here!! Anyways-- integration is going well with the hens... Buttermilk still gets a bit annoyed of us sometimes but other than that it's going well!!! Sometimes Snap can be nice. And I'm sure that Omelette told you all about her first egg, but she still doesn't lay in the nesting box Mommy made her. She always wants to go to the old coop, but I keep telling her that's not the nesting box!!! She can be a strange one... We have bread with the hens a little bit ago, and Ommy didn't come down til the very end. Sometimes she gets a bit intimidated by the hens, but not Hedwig!! She goes right up to them and starts stealing bread and fighting for food along with them until they peck her. (But Pippy The Marvelous does not tolerate being pecked on by the hens, and she rules with her right wing spread out across the land!) Sorry, that was Pip not me. Signing off~ Hazel Finnigan

Hazel: Well I've told you a zillion times that you have to lay in the nesting box that Mommy made for you!
Pippy: I want to start to lay soon because I want to surprise Mommy with what color egg I made!!! Maybe I'll make a tye-dye!
Hedwig: Ooo!! Yea!! Do it!!!
Buttermilk: Tye-dye egg? I think those are Easter Eggs...
Pippy: Exactly!! I'm an Easter Egger-- I make Easter Eggs!!!
Bisquick: I don't think it works that way, Pip....
Snap: Sometimes I make cool designs with the bloom of my egg and the pigmentation. :3
Hazel: Yes, yes... We all know of your eggs Snappers..

Now Omelette AND Pippy are laying!! It's crazy!! I hope I lay blue eggs!! Hazel wants to lay green, but I hope I don't lay pink cause that's a boring color. And the eggs don't even look pink!! Oh well... Today we came out during the morning as usual, and that's when Hedwig laid her egg... Right now we are roaming up in the trees!! Earlier we checked out SHS (Secret Hiding Spot) that's the neighbor's bird feeder, and they let us play there. We eat the seed that has fallen on the ground. It's yummy!! But there weren't any seeds today. Oh well. Then Hedwig was really daring and went all the way up to the mailbox! She was there until we called her back in, now we're under the Hemlock. It's nice and shady. TTFN! (Ta ta for now) ~ Pippin Louise

Bisquick: I laid a monstrous egg yesterday, so I'm not laying today.
All chickens: SLACKER!
Bisquick: Pipe down....
Snap: It's been dreary for awhile, but now it's lighting up.
Hazel: There was a big storm last night!
Omelette: With lightning and thunder and rain too!!!
Pippy: It was scary!!!
