My 2 chickens poop abnormal poops on and off for their whole lives, both are healthy, eating, drinking normally. Sometimes they poop out dark runny poops first thing in the morning and it would return to normal for the rest of the day, or it would continue all day! Their poops vary heavily, they could have diarrhea for 1 day and have normal poops for a week before the diarrhea returns again, one specific type of poop which they sometimes excrete which scares me the most is the attached picture, this happens on and off and they seem healthy but the watery ness and bloody mucus (top)just really worries me, is there anything I should do or just leave them be?
Is it hot where you live? The poop will get runny and watery when they drink a lot of water.
Also, the little red speck shouldn't be anything to worry about. Sometimes a little intestinal lining comes out with their poop. It won't affect them at all.
Is this the diarrhea you mean?
If it is, then it is nothing to worry about. It is called cecal poop and all chickens get this.
