So many birds eat termites, whenever I come across an infested log in the yard I place it in the pen and sprinkle cracked corn on it, they don't seem to be interested in the termites once the corn is gone.

Well, I don't know what a termite tastes like, but...
I looked forward to having chickens so they could take care of the ladybugs that Weyerhauser Timber Co. drops on us every year. My chickens won't touch em. Maybe they taste bad to them.

I don't mean to hijack...but what about ants? I saw ants in the run and I got really worried and didn't want to put down any ant poison. But then I saw the chicks over there and they were pecking at the ground. Were they eating the ants? Or just eating the grass, etc?

I don't know about termites, but ladybugs and little black ants (I don't know about other types of ants), do NOT taste good to birds. That is their defense against being eaten.
