My chickens suck at foraging bugs...

The subject line says it all. I don't know if it's because they were in a brooder so long or what, but my chickens don't have a big interest in bugs. I'll call them all close and flip over a log or brick for them to enjoy the smorgasbord of creepy-crawlies underneath. After some sideways glances and MAYBE a peck or two, they lose interest and leave. Am I missing something here? Do chickens not love bugs as much as I thought they do? Are mine weird? Could it be from remaining indoors until 10-ish weeks?

Try letting them get just a tiny bit hungry. Lift up the log, toss a little feed on the ground. They may take more notice of the bugs then.

Mine are not overly bug-crazy either. It's weird, but they'll go all Chuck Norris over peeled bananas.
