My Coop
So today I noticed a change in my chickens, normally they run from me or attack me when i enter the run. well today they all came up to me being loud and being very friendly. So i got them a treat and they ate it. We have been in a heat wave lately and my chickens was not doing well in the heat, drooling alot and acting very aggressive. well i took them inside for 3 days while the heat was high. Yesterday I put them back outside since the heat is not so bad now. we was hitting 110-115 when i took them inside. well today is a nice day sitting at 95 as the high. I now go outside and water down their coop inside and out till i can feel cold air coming from it. Well I went out to water down the inside of the coop and I got a surprize! I got my very first egg today from my eldest chicken!!!!!!!!!. tomorrow is their 18th week birthday the other 2 are a week younger. so no eggs from them yet. but soon they too will start laying I hope :) I'ts so exciting to find their first egg! I think I will drain the egg and mount it on the coop as a trophy that my chickens first egg! Its 2 times a great day because its like the chickens was so happy to show me they laid an egg. because they was so aggressive before. once my friend comes over ill take pics of the egg. its so small and adorable!

I wish my freeloaders would start! We're training them to roost which was left way too long so I think the training is slowing their start.

They need to be 18 to 19 weeks old to start giving eggs.
I didn't teach my chickens anything except how to be pigs and eat everything. seen one eat a lizzard, a mouse and I used to have a mole in my yard and hes gone so I think they ate him aswell. this last week I been thinking my chickens wouldnt produce eggs because they acted so mean to me since they was chicks. but it changed. now today every time i walk out there they greet me like im their favorite person. i noticed the change after they gave me an egg. just give them time and they will eventually. even if they don't want to. they do as they want but nature will make them give eggs eventually. I gave them normal grow feed till last week. then i switched to layer with oyster shell now i get an egg. just keep strong they will eventually lay some :)
