Last year we got 4 chicks. We raised them from babies. Two of them stared laying regularly in the early fall of 2009. Two of them still won't lay. We started them on a higher protein diet and they don't have any signs of disease or sickness. One of them laid a single egg in late fall and hasn't laid since. The other hen hasn't laid any at all. Does anyone have a idea why two of my four hens aren't laying?

1. Are you sure they're not roosters? Ok, I know they're not, but everyone else will ask
2. What are you feeding them?
3. WHat kind of chickens are they - do you have pics?
4. Do they have 14 hours of daylight?

Thank you for responding,

1. Yes I am sure they are not roosters. ha ha
2. We had been feeding them 50% laying mash and 50% scratch. Two weeks ago we changed to feeding them 100% laying mash.
3. We have one New Hampshire red, one black star sexling, one Wyandotte, and one Americauna. The New Hampshire red and the black star sexling have been laying all along. We don't have photos but we can take some and post them if that helps.
4. We live in ABQ, NM and I think we get 14 hours of daylight.

Any advise you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
