My chickens won't sit on their eggs.

Hi again, Yes I do have 2 roosters. 1 was ordered in the batch but we ended up with another. He was late starter in crowing, but is also very protective. He has gone after my 12 year old when he checks for eggs.

Some breeds tend to go broody more than others. Broodiness is a hormonal thing, often triggered by longer days in the spring and summer. If your pullet has only layed 7 eggs, she's most likely not old enough to be broody yet. In many chickens, that happens after their first winter, but some chickens will go broody earlier. Yours does not appear to be a breed that will, though.
