My chickens wont stop pecking each other!!!! :/

Is it possible that you can hang the waterer and feeder so they don't jump on....cause if they fight for that space it may causes problems...like mites if they poop and sit on it
i would love to hang the waterer and feeder, do you know how to do that so it doesn't move around and spill, but so I can still replenish their food and water? they've knocked it over before and it was a pain to clean. their roof is slanted if that makes a difference

Now that I think about it we did have a bug problem because of their water, but it was just in their coop not the chickens themselves. Thats why we raised their water higher.

The first and most important consideration is, how much room do they have? How big is the coop, in feet, length x width? They really need to have about 4 sq ft per bird. Do they have an outdoor run to get in during the day? They should have 10 sq ft per bird in the run. If they don't have enough room, they will peck at each other, and the lowest bird in the pecking order will suffer the most because she can't get away from the others.

I am going to suggest something else. I have a chicken that looked like that too. I too thought she had a hole in her neck and was sick. She was molting feathers. She is fine now and it was not due to pecking. Mine do peck, but we checked close and saw little pin feathers coming in. She doesn't have the bald spot now. Can you look close at her to see?

I just wanted to put in my 2 sense of what happened to me. :idunno

Hmm Im not sure that this is my case because she is the only one and I find that odd, and Im not sure, but i thought chickens had to be at least a year old to molt :idunno. I looked closer and I don't see any feathers growing in. Thanks though!!

A good advice depends on what we know. Space and hiding possibilities are important to prevent too much pecking. I’m not convinced you like you’re chickens a lot if you keep avoiding the questions about the space you’re chickens have.

Please post more pics of youre setup and give some sizes (coop, roost, run).

Alright! Good news for the people asking how big my coop is! I spoke with some people and turns out we are getting rid of half of the chickens!

Please understand that we are not trying to be critical of you, or pick on you, we are trying to help you. You posted a question about an apparent injury to one of your hens, and we are trying to get to the cause of the problem in order to resolve the issue. But we can't do that without all the information we are asking for. Crowded conditions can lead to pecking and even cannibalism. Since you are reluctant to answer the questions about space, we can only assume that might be the problem, but we don't really know. There could be other factors. We can only help you to the extent that you are willing to share information. Good luck to you and your chickens.
