how long do you think till they lay not sure of the age but they were bought before easter. do you think they'll lay this year or wait till spring?

Yes, they look about the same maturity as mine, who were bought April 9th. The white one similar to yours has been laying nearly 2 months. So fun!

I would say soon. I started my batch last year about Easter time and they did not lay until September, but then never really slowed down too much and laid all winter too!

The third picture of the BR does not look ready to lay yet, her comb & wattles will get much bigger and will turn red before she's ready to lay. You'll know when they will be ready to lay when they squat for you. When you go in to see them reach down to them and if they squat then you'll know it will be soon.

My RIR started at 21 weeks (bought the week after easter amd layed her first egg sept 16th) she squatted for me for about a week or so before actually laying, so I knew it was coming. You'll know the squat... can't miss it!!
