How long have you all had silkies

Over 8 years off and on, and 2 years mainly silkies ( and a few frizzles) and you? also what colours? bearded or clean faced?

Welcome to BYC - I always have found my silkies to be quite vigorous. What are you feeding your birds?

fruits, veges, table scraps, meats ( pet mince, occasional slice of dog roll) sometimes a little grated cheese, bird sesd ( the stuff you feed aviary birds) layer and grower pellets, chicken scratch, mash and grit . the cheese, meat scraps and bird seed are more treats than anything but the other stuff they get everyday ( mine also free range to a point , they have their house with a run attachment and then a gap for them to come out of but so the dog doesn't get in, then they have most of the yard ( which the dog shares) which is an L shape about 15 metres by 5 and 6 by 7 metres for my 14 birds. Yes I have found similer, though not as much in the older birds but the young ones especially throw their wings out and run around whilst jumping at the same time, its quite funny to watch then chase each other in play. what do you guys feed yours?
